How can I get Billdog?

People can become members of Billdog in two ways. First, the service is free to employees of companies that provide Billdog as part of the benefits package, and second, patients in need of help may sign up. New member sign up is free; members only pay when they request a medical bill consultation.

What does Billdog do?

Billdog specializes in the handling of confusing medical bills. The team works with members, insurance and medical providers to save people time, money and stress. Billdog's goal is to empower members with a new understanding of their medical expense so that medical bills are paid with confidence.

Can I contact Billdog?

Yes.  Our members can use the mobile app or call the support line at any time.  The email address is support@billdog.com.

Can Billdog make any medical decisions on my behalf?

No.   Billdog is only to be used after a service is performed and invoices and assorted correspondence has been sent. Billdog inquires to providers are only in regards to invoices , administration, and related correspondence.

Is Billdog part of an insurance carrier or healthcare provider ?

No.  Billdog is an independent firm that provides a service exclusively for the benefit of its members.   Billdog works with any insurance company or healthcare provider.

Can Billdog make any changes to my insurance on my behalf?

No.   Billdog is only to be used after a service is performed and invoices and assorted correspondence has been sent.    Billdog inquires to insurance companies are only performed in response to invoices and assorted correspondence.

When Billdog negotiates a bill reduction, do they keep any of the savings?

No. Never.  When Billdog corrects or negotiates a bill reduction, our member keeps 100% of the savings.

Will Billdog negotiate any bill?

No.   There are many bills that are straightforward, accurate and where the member is obligated to pay the bill in its entirety.   Balance bills for out of network or non-covered procedures may be eligible for negotiation or appeal.  

How does Billdog protect customer privacy?

Does Billdog Provide Clinical Advice?

No.   Billdog does not offer clinical advice or pre-procedure provider decision making support.

Can Billdog predict how much a planned procedure will cost?

No.   Billdog does not get involved with pre-procedure price shopping or negotiation.  Billdog should be contacted by members at the moment a medical bill or any related notice or correspondence has been received.
